About the maker
Here I am hiking the Narrows in Zion National Park! I'm inspired by these moving waters, rugged stone walls, and the contrast of the green trees clinging to the sides of the slot canyon.
I am also fascinated by architecture and art history. I love to travel and explore new places. I like to experience the feeling of a space, and consider how both the physical space and our emotions are shaped by the architect, designer, artist, builder.
These things: nature and architecture, find their way into my art studio.
I studied ceramics at university, but my degrees are in music performance, and my career has been in music. I've continued to work in clay when possible over the past 35 years, and recently started showing and selling my work.
My husband and I live in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where we are surrounded by Hot Springs National Park. Our son, Jacob, is a talented artist and he enjoys working in clay. You may see some of his intricate sgraffito work here.
